As the team and I gear up for our series of special events and workshops that will take place in Milwaukee in two weeks, I’ve been reflecting. 

For the past decade, sharing information openly and broadly to help as many people as possible communicate effectively has been a core value. From our online SWD community to the blog, podcast, and videos: these are designed to be open and available to everyone. I never want cost to be a barrier for learning. That’s why I’m excited about this announcement.

We already have a great group of people registered to take part in our workshops and celebratory book launch party on September 28–29th in Milwaukee, with space for a few more. If you would like to attend but price is an obstacle, I’m removing this hurdle. We’ll fill our remaining seats by letting you set your price.

While some elements are outside of my control—cost of flights and hotels, for example—the fee for our workshop and special events is not one of those things.
